Bijapur: Amid rising Naxal attacks in Chhattisgarh, a CAF jawan has been killed by the outfit in Bijapur, taking the total toll to eight within a month in the area, police said on Friday.
The jawan was deployed in Toynar village. He was abducted by Naxals five days ago and his body was found near Padera on Gangalur-Bijapur road.
The jawan has been identified as Malluram Suryavanshi who was posted in the Pioneer Platoon.
Police have also recovered a warning note from the spot.
According to the note, the Gangalur Area Committee has taken the responsibility of the killing.
Police have cordoned off the area and a search operation is underway.
