Patna: A special court in Patna on Friday remanded Nasir and Imran, accused in the Darbhanga station blast case, to eight-day custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). However, the NIA had urged the court for 10 days' remand of both the terrorists. Kafeel's, another accused, remand has not been given to the NIA.
As per the report, many important arrests have been made so far in the Darbhanga parcel blast case. On Thursday, the NIA team brought the terrorists, arrested from Uttar Pradesh and Telangana, to Patna amid tight security. However, Saleem, the fourth accused in the case, was not presented in the Civil Court as he is still under judicial custody at Beur jail in Patna.
On June 17, there was a blast at platform number one of Darbhanga station while parcels were being unloaded from a train. Following an investigation in the case, the accused were arrested from Uttar Pradesh and Telangana. The NIA has booked them the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act, 2019, besides other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The parcel containing a chemical kept in a glass bottle wrapped with adhesive tapes in women’s clothes was booked at Secunderabad railway station. The parcel had exploded while being dumped at platform number one of Darbhanga railway station.
