Patna: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's elder daughter and RJD candidate from Pataliputra seat, Misa Bharti filed her nomination for Lok Sabha elections on Friday.
Misa arrived for nomination with a picture of her father in her hand.
Speaking to the media, Misa Bharti said, "For the first time I am going to enrol without his presence, the people of Pataliputra are with us. Even though he is not present here but I know his blessings are with me," she said.
RJD supremo Lalu Prasad was sentenced to 14 years in jail and fined Rs 60 lakh by a special CBI court in connection with the fourth fodder scam case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from Dumka treasury in the early 1990s.
RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav is currently admitted in AIIMS, New Delhi for treatment.
She was accompanied by mother Rabri Devi and brother Tej Pratap Yadav during the nomination process.
According to information, there was an internal rift within the RJD for the seat of Pataliputra but RJD has fielded Misa Bharti as its candidate.
Meanwhile, BJP has given the ticket to Ramkripal Yadav from this seat, who is also a present MP from here.
