Darbhanga (Bihar): Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to the countrymen to join the Janta Curfew on Sunday, 21 March to fight against the Coronavirus disease made a great success.
One such example can be seen in Bihar's Darbhanga district.
Shamse Alam Khan of Sadar Block in Bihar's Darbhanga district cancelled his marriage procession amid Coronavirus pandemic.
The groom left for Asansol in West Bengal in the evening of March 21 along with his brother and driver.
Over 100 invitations were distributed for the marriage ceremony but the family cancelled the entire procession to avoid social gathering, the groom's brother said.
"The marriage date was fixed three months ago. But seeing the present situation of the country and the sudden Janta Curfew announced by PM Modi, they decided to cancel the entire procession", Shamse told.
He also mentioned that the reception will take place with a handful of people.
Further, he stated that they can't say whether they will be able to reach Asansol at the time or not due to Curfew.
As a responsible citizen, we all need to unite and fight a big battle against Coronavirus, groom's brother stated.
