Vishakapatnam: A young woman in Visakhapatnam was killed by a man in the name of love. A young woman from Sundaraiahnagar in the city had just completed her intermediate studies.
Akhil was introduced to this woman while studying in a private school in Gajuvaka. Contact between the two has been going on for the last three years. Recently, the young woman became close to a young man named Ramu. Akhil couldn't digest this and attacked her with the knife.
Four days ago, there was a fight between Ramu and Akhil concerning the young woman. But on Saturday evening, Akhil saw the young woman and Ramu talking at the Sai Baba temple at Srinagar Junction. He furiously went home and brought a knife. He attacked the young woman with a knife. Frightened by seeing Akhil wield a knife, Ramu ran away.
Akhil phoned his father and told him that the young woman was about to die. Akhil's father immediately informed the police and they reached the spot. After seeing the police arrive he tried running away but was arrested. The young woman died while she was being taken to the hospital by locals.
The girl's uncle's daughter's wedding was happening hence the family was busy at home. The young woman had gone to Sai Baba temple after informing her mother. Soon after that, the family members heard the news of the young woman's death. They were shocked to hear the news. The young woman was brilliant in studies who passed with 9.5 points in class 10 and 9.8 points in intermediate.
Ramu, who escaped the scene, turned on his phone at 10.30 pm on Saturday night. The police called him asking him to surrender. Ramu then came to the police station and surrendered. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
