Hyderabad : The CBI has informed the Telangana High Court that AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy had received information about the murder of Vivekananda Reddy before his (Viveka's) personal assistant MV Krishna Reddy revealed it to the world at 6.15 am on the day of the murder. The CBI told the court that how YS Jagan received this information about Viveka's murder has to be investigated and, for this, MP Avinash Reddy has to be questioned in custody.
Urging the court to dismiss Avinash Reddy's anticipatory bail petition, the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) said that when the Kadapa MP's phone was checked through IPDR (internet protocol detailed record), it was revealed that he was active on WhatsApp at 4.11 am on the morning of the Viveka murder. The agency said that Avinash was active before and after the commission of the murder and his role in informing the death of Viveka to Jagan Reddy has to be investigated.
The CBI said that the second accused in the murder case (Y Sunil Yadav) was present at Avinash Reddy's house at 1.58 am after midnight after Viveka was murdered, and, in addition to that, Avinash made WhatsApp voice calls, hence it was necessary to interrogate the MP in police custody.
The CBI, which on Friday filed an additional counter in the Telangana HC against the anticipatory bail petition filed by Avinash Reddy, said that in the past, Avinash Reddy gave evasive answers and did not cooperate with the investigation and he was not coming forward to unravel the conspiracy behind the murder. Avinash Reddy was active on WhatsApp from 00.27 to 1.10 (on 15th March) after midnight on March 14, 2019 and he also made WhatsApp calls, the CBI said.

The agency said that the four accused involved in Vivekananda Reddy's murder broke into Viveka's house around 1.30 am on the night of crime. Moreover, after Viveka's murder, the mobile phone location indicated that Y Sunil Yadav, the second accused, was at the house of Avinash Reddy at 1.58 am that night. The CBI explained that the IPDR investigation revealed that Avinash Reddy communicated through WhatsApp at 4.11 am and his role in informing the death of Viveka to Jagan is to be investigated.
The CBI further told the court that on 15th May, a notice was issued to Avinash Reddy under section 160 of the CrPC asking him to appear on 16th May at 11 am for the investigation. However, he did not attend and said he needed 4 days. As a result, another notice was issued on the 16th asking him to attend at 11 am on the 19th, but he did not attend, saying that his mother's health was not good.
On 19th May, Avinash Reddy was in Hyderabad and left Hyderabad without attending the investigation on the pretext of his mother's illness. The CBI said that later, after speaking on the phone and asking him to come for an investigation, it was learned that he was going toward Pulivendula. Another notice was issued on the 19th to appear before CBI on the 22nd.
The CBI explained that on the 22nd of this month, a CBI team left for Vishwabharti Hospital in Kurnool to arrest Avinash Reddy, but Avinash's followers gathered there and blocked the roads. Avinash did not attend the hearing even on the 22nd. It has been stated that the Supreme Court has issued orders to complete the investigation by June 30, but Avinash Reddy is deliberately creating obstacles to prevent the investigation. Given these reasons, the anticipatory bail petition is sought to be dismissed. If the bail petition is dismissed, the investigation is likely to be completed by June 30, the CBI said.
