Andhra Pradesh: SEC Ramesh Kumar sacked from post

The YSR Congress party government led by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy issued an ordinance for removing Ramesh Kumar from the SEC post on Friday.

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh state election commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has been sacked from his post, as per the AP government official release.

According to sources, the YSR Congress party government led by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy issued an ordinance for removing Ramesh Kumar from the SEC post on Friday.

Instead of the existing five years, the government ordinance also seeks to reduce the term of the SEC to three years.

Soon after the ordinance got approval from Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan, the government issued the GO, sources said.

Based on the new ordinance, the government has now sacked SEC Ramesh Kumar from his duties as his tenure was expired, sources added.
