Andhra Pradesh municipal polls on March 10

Elections to 12 municipal corporations and 75 municipalities/nagar panchayats in Andhra Pradesh will be held on March 10, the state election commission announced today.

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): The Andhra Pradesh state election commission on Monday announced that elections for 12 municipal corporations and 75 municipalities and city panchayats, will be held on March 10.

While polling will be held on March 10, the counting of votes will take place on March 14.

The poll body clarified that the election process would continue from where it had been stopped due to the COVID pandemic.

The deadline for the withdrawal of nominations is 3 pm on March 3.

Elections will be held in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Eluru, Vijayawada, Machilipatnam, Guntur, Ongole, Chittoor, Tirupati, Kadapa, Kurnool, and Anantapur municipal corporations.

The election process had to be stopped mid-way in March last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
