West Godavari (Andhra Pradesh): A man from New Navarasapuram village in West Godavari district has spent Rs 2 lakhs to repair the public road ahead of his son's wedding. The 15-kilometre road from New Navarasapuram to Elamanchili Zone Medapadu was in a bad shape due to potholes. The villagers were finding it difficult to commute on this battered road.
Under these circumstances, Chindadi Nirikshanarao from New Navarasapuram decided to conduct his son's wedding. He realized that the guests attending the wedding would face discomfort commuting on this road. Nirikshanarao has spent Rs 2 lakhs to repair the road using earthmovers.
On learning the matter, Roads and Buildings Department DE Hariprasad said that the government had sanctioned Rs. 40 crore for the repair of the road and work would start soon.
