Gulmarg: On the third day of the ongoing Khelo India Winter Games here on Monday, sports such as snowboarding and skiing have taken place. Players from Jammu and Kashmir and other states have taken part in these events. The snowboarding and skiing competitions played on the Main Ridge of Gulmarg.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, the players said that they were satisfied with the arrangements. A skiing veteran said, "it doesn't matter whether I win. If I can make a difference, that will be great."
"I had a lot of fun here. A terrific slop was made. I'm glad I participated in it," said an 18-year-old player.
Saba, who hails from Budgam district, said, "This is our Gray Slope and we come here often to work. My game in my category was the best. The facilities we are being provided by the administration is awesome. "
Snowboarders say they were happy with their game but said the sport requires more attention from the government.
He said that despite the slopes and favourable weather, the infrastructure for snowboarding is not good enough.
Snowboarder Qazi Irshad said, "We do everything possible to make our game better. But this game is expensive. Not everyone can buy this snowboard board for racing."
Expressing his reliance on the Indian government, Irshad said, "The administration has taken a very good step. It will not only promote sports but also bring more domestic and foreign tourists to Kashmir."
All the players in Alpine Skiing, Derby Skiing, Free Red and Snowboarding have demonstrated their skills and they hope this experience will help them polish their skills.
