Beijing: Indian shooting stars Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary clinched a gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed team event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup in Beijing, China, on Thursday.
The Indian pair outplayed Jiang Ranxin and Pang Wei of China 16-6 in the final, which happened in a new format where the top two teams went head-to-head for gold.
Bhaker-Chaudhary finished 5th scoring 482 points in Qualification, but they were in dominant form in the final.
Interestingly, this is the second consecutive gold for Bhaker and Chaudhary at the ISSF World Cup as they had clinched a gold in the same category in the New Delhi edition of the shooting World Cup in February this year.
Earlier in the day, Anjum Moudgil and Divyansh Singh Panwar won India’s first gold medal at the World Cup as they edged past Chinese pair of Liu Ruxuan and Yang Haoran.
Moudgil and Panwar were trailing 13-11, however, the Indian duo made a brilliant comeback to to level it at 15-15 before winning and occupying the first place by 17-15.
