Asian Games: Indian men's skeet team wins team bronze

Indian trio Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, Gurjoat Khangura, and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka shot a total of 355 to win a bronze medal in the men's skeet event at the Asian Games.

Hangzhou: India's epic run in the shooting competition of the ongoing Asian Games continues as the men's skeet team bagged a bronze medal here on Wednesday.

The Indian team of Angad Vir Singh Bajwa, Gurjoat Khangura, and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka shot a total of 355 to settle for the third position as India continued their dominance at the range shooting.

Hosts China shot 362 points to win the gold medal while Qatar claimed the silver with 359 points and the Indian trio managed to claim the bronze medal in the men's skeet event of the Asian Games.

Earlier, India's shooter Sift Kaur Samra won a gold medal scoring a world record and game record shot while Ashi Chouksey won a bronze medal in the women's 50 m rifle 3P individual final at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou on Wednesday, giving the country a double podium finish.

Sift Samra not only secured a gold medal but also broke the world record, Asian record, and the Asian Games record. The previous world record was held by Great Britain, the Asian record was held by China and the Asian Games record was previously held by Mongolia.

With this medal, India got its ninth medal in shooting at the event and its fifth overall gold medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. The Indian women's team, however, was knocked out of the shotgun skeet event by finishing in the fourth position.
