Asian Games Archery: India ignites hope for gold; advances to finals of Men's Compound Team event

Hangzhou: The Indian trio of Ojas Pravin Deotale, Abhishek Verma, and Prathamesh Samadhan Jawkar have advanced to the finals of the Men's team Compound Team event after defeating the team from Chinese Taipei.

Ojas started with a bulls-eye for India in the first end paving a way for their advantage. Thanks to the precision of the Indian archers, India were leading by 59-58. India missed to bag only two points in the next round of arrows and so they amassed a total of 58 points. However, the rival team earned just 55 points from the end 2 and it took the scoreline to 117-113.

Further, India set the arena on fire with their exploits in the end 3 hitting the mark on every single occasion. They gathered all possible 60 points from the end while the archers from Chinese Taipei earned only 52 points. The Indian domination continued in the final end as well and India cruised into the final assuring India of an archery medal with a scoreline of 234-224.

India have already scripted their best performance in the history of the Asian Games and their aim to sign off the games with at least 100 medals seems to be on the verge of getting fulfilled.
