Paris: Paris Saint-Germain suffered their biggest defeat in 10 years in Ligue 1 as Lille handed them 5-1 defeat. With this defeat PSG missed the chance to win the title for the sixth time.
PSG had to play with 10 men for 54 minutes as they lost both captain Thiago Silva and Thomas Meunier to injuries. In the first 15 minutes, two goals by star forward Kylian Mbappe was disallowed for offside.
The host team Lille were on the top of their game after halftime with goals by Nicolas Pepe, Jonathan Bamba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Jose Fonte, helped them to reduce margin of points with the league table topper. Lille have six games in hand.
PSG still hold the chance to win the league if they manage to beat Nantes on Wednesday.
It was PSG's heaviest league defeat since Qatar based company took over the club in 2011.
Lille took the lead in the seventh minute as Meunier diverted a cross by Jonathan Ikone into his own goal. But in the 11th minute, PSG got the equaliser as Bernat scored a volley from Mbappe's cross.
In the early minutes into the second half Pepe beat the offside trap to score from close range.
Lille scored another in the 65th minute when Bamba outpaced the defence and beat goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
Later, Magalhaes and Fonte beefed up the lead for Lille as they scored from headers in the 72nd and 84th minutes, respectively.
