Hyderabad: All India Football Federation (AIFF) might decide to keep the format of holding the Super Cup after the conclusion of the ISL and I-League in order to keep the player in competitive mood for World Cup qualifiers.
AIFF was considering the idea to hold Super Cup before the two leagues to attract more crowd but now they have decided not to change the format.
AIFF general secretary Kushal Das told media, "We have unofficially told the clubs that the tournament will be held post-season but a final decision could be taken in the next 48 hours."
Das also informed that Indian coach Igor Stimac also advise the same.
"The coach feels the players will not have anything to do once the leagues get over (in March). We have the World Cup qualifiers coming up once the leagues are over, so it's important that the players remain in a competitive mould," Das informed.
