IPL 13: Prithvi Shaw shines as DC post 175/3 against CSK

CSK are coming to play this match after conceding a 16-run defeat to Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals won their last fixture against Kings XI Punjab in a super-over thriller.

Dubai: Delhi Capitals opening batsman Prithvi Shaw played an outstanding knock of 64 to help his side post a challenging total of 175/3 against Chennai Super Kings here at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Putting to bat first, Delhi had a blistering start as their opener smashed Chennai bowlers all around the park. Shaw was playing the attacking role while Shikhar Dhawan was playing the anchor role.

Shaw smashed nine boundaries and one maximum for his 64 of just 43 balls while Dhawan scored 35 runs at a strike rate of 129.

CSK skipper MS Dhoni went to the experienced Piyush Chawla for the breakthrough and the leggy did not disappoint as he picked the wicket of Dhawan. The lefthander was plumed before the wickets trying to play reverse swipe.

In Chawla's very next over he dismissed the dangerous Shaw. The right-hand batsman while stepping out missed the ball and it went on to hit his pads. The ball was close to Dhoni and he showed athleticism to dismiss the bells.

Captain Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant then build a steady partnership of and took the team's score to 161 by the end of 19th over. Iyer edged one to Dhoni and the veteran took an absolute blinder on the bowling of Sam Curran.
