Delhi Capitals(DC) rode on a Rishabh Pant's blitzkrieg innings to set a target of 214 for Mumbai Indians(MI) in their campaign opener on Sunday.

Mumbai: Delhi Capitals star Rishabh Pant showed just why he is rated so highly in the world as he smashed 27-ball 78 to help them reach 213/6 against Mumbai Indians in their campaign opener here at the Wankhede stadium on Sunday.

Put into bat, Capitals lost two quick wickets as Prithvi Shaw(7) and Shreyas Iyer(16) departed in the first four overs.

Shikhar Dhawan(43) and Colin Ingram stitched a valuable partnership for the third wicket partnership to take Delhi to 112 in less than 12 overs.

Since the departure of Ingram for 47, Pant took centre stage as he hammered bowlers all round the park hitting 7 huge maximums and 7 fours in his innings.

For the hosts, Mitchell McCleghan was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed three wickets.
