Hyderabad: Bitter rivals, India and Pakistan, are all set to meet in another high-stakes match with the winner booking their place in the final of ICC U-19 World Cup.
Both the teams will lock horns on Tuesday in Potchefstroom and defending champions India will enter the match as slight favourites but cricket matches between these two sides are seldom straightforward.
Noticeably, both the teams go into the semifinal unbeaten and while India defeated Australia in the quarterfinals, Pakistan outplayed Afghanistan.
Like at the highest level, the India juniors have had the upper hand over Pakistan of late, having beaten them in the Asia Cup last September when they emerged tournament winners.
Talking about the U-19 World Cup then India have clinched the title for four times in 2000, 2008, 2012 and 2018, while Pakistan have won it just twice in 2004 and 2006.
Interestingly, the last time the two sides clashed (in the 2018 edition) was also during the semi-finals, wherein India thrashed Pakistan by 203 runs.
Ahead of the mouthwatering semifinal clash, take a look at how the teams have fared against each other in the past editions of the tournament.
India and Pakistan have clashed against each other nine times in the U-19 World Cup, five have been won by Pakistan while India has emerged victorious four times.
