While chasing 237 runs target Jadhav scored unbeaten 81 off 87 balls. He laced his innings with nine boundaries and one six. His 141-run fifth wicket partnership with Dhoni was key to Inda's six-wicket win against the Aussies.

However, it was Dhoni's inputs that helped Jadhav to steer India to a successful chase.

After leading India to an empathic win Jadhav spoke candidly about Dhoni's influence in his batting and how Dhoni guided him throughout his innings to take India home at Uppal stadium.

The 33-year-old said had he not had the former captain on the other side, he might have gone for his shots earlier in the innings.

“Recently in Australia, we pulled off similar kind of chase. I just did that again today. I tried to learn a lot from him (MS). MS and Cheeku (Virat Kohli) are the best chasers in the game,” Kedar said.

“That’s what we learn from the captain and that’s what we tried to do. I tried to play more shots early. He reads your mind, the team needs more solidity. Every time you think the team, most of the times, you’ll end up on the winning side," he added.

On being asked about his bowling Jadhav, who was adjudged Man of the Match for the scoring match-winning half-century and taking wicket, said, “My bowling is all about reading batsmen’s mind. I tried to bowl stump-to-stump. I don’t think like I’m a bowler. I enjoy my responsibility.”
