Dhoni, Pandya lead India to 268-7 against West Indies

India skipper Kohli smashed 53 half century of his ODI career to break the record for fastest to 20,000 international runs.

Manchester: Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni led India to a fighting total of 268-7. Former captain Dhoni scored 56 runs off 61 balls, while all-rounder Hardik smashed 7 boundaries for his 46.

After winning the toss India opted to bat first on a flat track of Old Trafford. The men in blue didn't have the best start as in form opener Rohit Sharma was dismissed in a controversial fashion.

Rahul and Virat tried to steady India's ship with a 50 run partnership but Rahul was dismissed by Carribean skipper Jason Holder at the score of 48.

Earlier, India skipper Kohli smashed 53 half century of his ODI career to break the record for fastest to 20,000 international runs. Virat broke the record held by Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara. The right-hand batsman scored 72 of 62 balls with the help of 8 boundaries.

Meanwhile, India's inexperienced middle order was yet again exposed in this match as number four Vijay Shankar got out on a mere score of 14 while Kedar Jadhav was sent back to the pavilion on 7.
