Fuzhou: World Number 9 Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty's dream run at the Fuzhou China Open Super 750 came to an end on Saturday as the Indian duo lost their men's doubles semi-final match to World No. 1 Indonesian pair of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sukamuljo.
The Indian pair lost their semi-final battle 16-21, 20-22 to the Indonesian duo who had earlier defeated them in the French Open 2019 final.
Earlier, the Indian pair had entered the semi-final after upsetting World No. 3 pair of Li Jun Hui and Liu Yu Chen.
With the loss, the Indian duo now trail 8-0 in their head-to-head record over Marcus and Kevin.
