Mumbai: After a handful of biopics been filmed in Bollywood, producers this time are eying to film the life story of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Jointly owned by Shiva Sharma and Zeeshan Ahmad, Amaash Films have acquired the official rights of the book 'The Untold Vajpayee'.
The book penned by Ullekh N P has revealed various aspect of Vajpayee's life, right from childhood to college life and eventually him turning into a politician.
When asked about the project, Sharma said: "The Untold Vajpayee is one of my most ambitious projects and it gives me a feeling of immense honour and joy to be able to put up this unsung hero onto the big screen."
Speaking about his unique personality, he said: "I believe not everyone knows the real side of Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji. While reading this book, I also discovered quite a lot about his personality traits, the work done by him during his tenure as a Prime Minister for our country."
Sharma further went on to add: "These all unseen and untold traits of his personality inspired me to put his story out to the world and inspire other people as well."
On asking about the development of the project, Ahmad declared that the scripting of the movie has already started. "Once the scripting is completed, we shall finalise the director and the actors for the film," he added.
Though the producers have not finalised on the title, the movie is referred as 'The Untold Vajpayee' tentatively.
Vajpayee who was a senior BJP leader died on August 16 in 2018. He was one of the founding members of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS).
