Hyderabad: Actor Mrunal Thakur, who started the new year on a busy note, has around five films lined up in 2021. One among the announced projects for Mrunal was Doctor G costarring Ayushmann Khurrana. The actor, however, has reportedly backed out from the project citing date issues.
Mrunal's roster next year includes the cricket drama Jersey opposite Shahid Kapoor, and the boxing flick Toofan co-starring Farhan Akhtar. She also has the comedy Aankh Micholi with Abhimanyu Dasani, besides a couple of projects that are to be officially announced.
When her casting was announced, the actor was on cloud none for bagging Doctor G alongside Ayushmann. But now reports suggest that Mrunal has opted out of the project. The actor had given dates for Doctor G last year before the lockdown happened and when the makers chalked out a new plan to take the film on floors, Mrunal and Ayushmann's dates are not falling in place.

Though she had a very meaty role in the film Mrunal had to let go of Doctor G since she has already committed the same dates to her other films like Pippa. After much back and forth, Mrunal handled the situation very professionally and made the makers aware of the situation who respecting her decision let her proceed with her earlier commitments.
Mrunal, who earlier said that she likes to pick her roles based on stories and emotions, and not on the star quotient associated with the projects, will be seen playing Ishaan Khatter's sibling in Pippa.
