Hyderabad: 80's diva Meenakshi Seshadri is among the yesteryear leading ladies who vanished from the screens after they got married. The actor made her acting debut with Manoj Kumar produced Painter Babu in 1983 and made everyone take notice of her with Subhash Ghai's Hero in the same year. When she found her soulmate in investment banker Harish Mysore in 1995, the actor left the gloss and glamour of film industry behind to lead a normal life in Dallas, USA.

After nearly three decades, the actor, who runs Cherish Dance School, is now ready to return to the soil if exciting offers come her way. In her latest interview with a leading daily, Meenakshi has said that she now feels releaved from her mother's duty as her daughter, Kendra Mysore, is working and her son, Josh Mysore will be going to join the college soon.

Talking to the daily, the 57-year-old actor said, "When I decided I wanted to get married I knew it would be hard for me to continue acting, especially when I met my husband, who lived in America. I thought about working in India with marriage in America, and whether it would work out. But I decided that I could not do both. I had to finish many of my movies after getting married and I had a lot of offers but I had to decline."

The actor also said that people in the industry drew conclusions that she 'never wants to act again' but according to her that was not true as she had thought of taking a break and not quitting acting forever.

The Ghatak star further said, "I think many movie makers said, ‘Oh! She never wants to act again’. You know how news spreads, but that was not true. I was just taking a break. It’s been a long break, but I am happy, I have no complaints. I wanted to be there for my family, my children. My family and friends feel I can still make a comeback. I don't have an answer to that but I have spoken to filmmakers and they said if I was really interested, there are numerous opportunities. I am ready and raring to go."

With the OTT bloom and filmmakers coming up with more rounded characters, now is the exciting time for actors of any age. When the film industry has finally woken up to celebrate talent like Neena Gupta, Meenakshi Seshadri gracing the screens again sounds more real than a tale of a distant dream.
