Mumbai: Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has been tested positive of COVID-19 for the fifth time in succession. The sample tests are carried out on coronavirus patients every 48 hours.
She is presently admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS). Director of the institute Prof RK Dhiman said that the singer’s condition was stable and there was no cause for worry.
Earlier, the Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan singer took to Instagram to reassure her fans that she is fine and rubbished the rumours of being in the ICU. "Going off to bed. Sending you all loving vibes. Stay safe you guys. Thank you for your concern but I am not in the ICU. I am fine. I hope my next test is negative," wrote Kanika.

Kanika has been hitting the headlines ever since she tested positive for the disease earlier in March. She was criticized for attending parties and allegedly spreading the novel virus.
Lucknow police also booked her on charges of negligence for attending various social events in the city despite being infected with coronavirus. She alleged that she was being treated ‘like a criminal’ at the hospital, following which, the hospital released a statement asking the singer to behave like a patient and not throw ‘tantrums of a star’.
Many political leaders who met the singer in Uttar Pradesh went in for self-isolation post her diagnosis.
