Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare trailer: Konkona, Bhumi break social shackles

The makers of the Netflix film Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare have dropped the trailer on Friday. Alankrita Srivastava's directorial is a story of two sisters who refuse to abide by the rules that the society has written for them in stone.

Mumbai: The makers of Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare have dropped the much-awaited trailer which follows the journey of two unapologetic sisters out to find love and freedom.

The trailer gives a glimpse of the two leads as cousins who refuse to live by the rules that the society has written for them in stone and will 'do whatever it takes to break the invisible shackles'. Konkona as Dolly and Bhumi as Kajal aka Kitty play quintessential small-town women who try to be each other's confidante while struggling with their own desires.

Set in Noida, Dolly is caught in a detached marriage but finds the missing piece in her life’s puzzle when she meets a salesman, played by Amol.

On the other hand, Kitty dreams of city life, only to find herself working at a call centre where she needs to keep her emotions at bay.

Produced by Balaji Telefilms, the film has been written by Srivastava too. In a statement, Konkona said about her character to a news portal, "Dolly’s life is one we see so often – a bickering wife who is not satisfied with her husband’s unambitious ways, the mother of two young boys who she barely understands, all while dreaming of a life of luxury that is far beyond her reach. While she believes herself to be quite the rebel, she is blissfully unaware of how deeply conditioned she is in certain ways."

The film also stars Kubbra Sait, Karan Kundra, Amol Parashar and Vikrant Massey. Speaking about her character, Sharma shares,
