Mumbai: Ajay Devgn has started shooting for his upcoming sports drama on Monday. The actor made the announced on his Twitter along with 'Maidaan' poster.
The poster features a football with the words "The golden era of Indian football 1952-1962 " written over it.

"'Maidaan' kicks off today," Ajay captioned the poster.
'Maidaan' is based on legendary former player Syed Abdul Rahim, who was also an Indian football coach and manager of the Indian national team from 1950 until his death in 1963. He is regarded as the architect of modern Indian football.
The film is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and jointly produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta.
'Maidaan' also stars National Award-winning actor Keerthy Suresh in a pivotal role. However, other details related to the film are kept under tight wraps.
The film is expected to release in 2020.
