Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's elder son Junaid Khan is gearing up for a career in films. In his debut film directed by Siddharth Malhotra, Junaid will be seen romancing Arjun Reddy fame actor Shalini Pandey.
Junaid will have a dream debut with Yash Raj Films, a banner which launched talents like Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, late Sushant Singh Rajput and many more. The latest buzz suggests that the makers have found the leading lady in Shalini who will be paired opposite Junaid in his maiden film.
The untitled film with Junaid will be Shalini's second project with Yash Raj Films. She will mark her Hindi debut opposite Ranveer Singh in Jayeshbhai Jordaar which is also backed by the banner. Besides Shalini, the film may also feature Sharvari Wagh, who is making her debut in YRF's Bunty Aur Babli 2.

Junaid went to Los Angeles’ American Academy of Dramatic Arts before doing theatre in India for over 3 years now. Earlier, the buzz had it that he will mark his debut with Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Ishq for which he auditioned but was rejected. After which he was reportedly doing rounds of the casting directors and going through the grind of auditions until YRF decided to launch him.
Junaid is Aamir's son with his first wife Reena Dutta, with whom he also has a daughter named Ira. The couple were married for 16 years before they got divorced in 2002. Aamir then got married to Kiran Rao in 2005.
