Shame: Woman carried to hospital on stretcher in Odisha

Despite tall claims of Odisha government pertaining to its efforts to take healthcare and welfare to the people, the reality paints a different picture. A case has been reported from Keonjhor district on Wednesday where a woman patient had to be carried on a stretcher to the hospital for about 5 kilometres. In fact, more or less, this is the practice in the area - since the ambulances are not able to navigate through non-existent roads to reach the remote villages most of the times.
