Pranab Mukherjee: Man of all seasons

Former President of India Pranab Mukherjee, popularly known as Pranab Da's life-long political career spanned about five decades, during which he held various key posts in the Congress as well as in the governments led by Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, P V Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh. Hailing from a small village named Mirati, in the Birbhum district of West Bengal, Pranab da was honoured with India's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and Honorary doctorate and Honorary D.Litt.(doctor of letters) degrees for his contribution to the country and its politics.
