MNREGA has become a saviour for the poor amid lockdown!

MNREGA, a scheme initiated in rural India in 2005, has become a saviour for millions of poor at a time when unemployment and starvation were looming over their heads amid corona induced lockdown. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier slammed the scheme in the Parliament, calling it a failure of the Congress govt. However, Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi said that it has transferred power to the poorest and has demanded the Central govt to increase the working days of MNREGA from 100 to 200.
