Karnataka farmer's buffalo weighs 1,500 kg

Belgaum: Vilas Nayak's toil over many years in rearing is reflected well in his buffalo weighing 1,500 kg. Even though a person had approached Nayak to buy the three-year-old buffalo for Rs 61 lakhs, Nayak refused. The farmer from Mangasuli village of Kagawada taluk in Belgaum district earns his livelihood by rearing fifty buffaloes without owning a piece of land. He sells more than 120 litres of milk every day.
