Thirparappu falls in Tamil Nadu flooded due to heavy rains

Incessant rains in Kanniyakumari district in Tamil Nadu has resulted in flooding of the famed Thirparappu Falls. Kanniyakumari district has been receiving copious rainfall of late and it resulted in flooding of Kodayar river. As the water reservoirs in the district are filling fast, 8,000 cusecs of water was released from Pechiparai Dam and 2,000 cusecs of water was released from Chittar Dam. Several agriculture fields are completely submerged.
