Stranded fawn rescued by foresters

Malappuram: Forest department officials in Malappuram district saved a fawn which was found stranded in the forest. It was spotted by tapping labourers on Wednesday morning at Thannipoyil in Pokot reserve forest. Chaliyar panchayat president PT Usman then informed the nearby forest station. After giving food to the fawn, they shifted the fawn to Akampadam Forest Station in the Edavanna Range. The fawn was fed a mixture of milk and glucose as prescribed by a veterinarian. Deputy Range Officer AK Jayaraj said it will be released into the forest after it regains health.
