Tax officials find gold worth crores in car in TN

Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu): Income tax officials on Monday found gold worth Rs 12 crores in a car during checks at Takkarammalpuram. Investigation revealed that the jewellery was being moved from Madurai airport to Kanyakumari. A businessman from Kanyakumari had bought the jewellery in bulk and was planning to sell it to shops. Authorities have stepped up checks as the state goes to polls on April 6 to choose a new state government.
