Hong Kong pro-democracy legislators spoke out against China's new national security law for the semi-autonomous city. Pro-democracy legislator Claudia Mo spoke out against new national security law calling it an "evil". Sitting in a cramped room borrowed from a teachers' union, the small group of lawmakers took turns on Wednesday criticizing the law and emphasized concern about what it means for freedom for people in Hong Kong. Under China's national security law in Hong Kong, those found guilty of inciting secessionist, subversive, terrorist activities and colluding with foreign forces could face life imprisonment if they are deemed masterminds of such activities.
