Two firefighters of public sector major OIL were found dead in a wetland abutting the site of a major blaze at its Baghjan well, which has been "uncontrollably" spewing gas for the last 15 days in Assam's Tinsukia district. In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, OIL spokesperson Tridip Hazarika says there is no danger at present as fire remains only at the wellhead.
Hazarika further stated that blowouts of this magnitude happen across the world and only foreign experts could handle such an incident. He also said that the future and livelihood of the community will be secured at any cost.
