Kolkata: A 27-year-old tribal woman from Haroa village of West Bengal was allegedly gang-raped with hands and legs tied. She was rescued from the roadside on Thursday morning, an official said.
According to sources, the woman is in critical condition as the treatment continues to save her life.
Police have registered a case against four accused, however, the probe is underway to nab the culprits. Meanwhile, locals on Thursday staged a protest to demand justice for the woman.

As the nation is reeling under the coronavirus crisis, cases of crimes against women continue to be a matter of great concern for the government.
In a similar incident, a 15 year-old girl was recently allegedly gang-raped and murdered in West Bengal's Sonarpur. The incident triggered a political unrest across the region as the BJP slammed TMC government of failing to protect women and creating an environment of terror.
