Heavy showers flood streets and homes in Siliguri

The Met Department has said heavy rainfall is likely in West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim in the next three days.

Siliguri (West Bengal): Heavy showers on Tuesday flooded roads and homes in Siliguri in West Bengal, reports say.

Water clogging in the streets disrupted movement of people trying to reach their offices and businesses in the northeastern city on the international border.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), West Bengal is likely to receive more rain in the next three days.

The Met Department stated that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim.

"Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Punjab, Rajasthan, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Rayalaseema, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe," the IMD stated in its All India weather bulletin.
