West Bengal: Man arrested for running firearms factory in guise of sewing machine factory

A man named Abu Siddiqui Lashkar was arrested for allegedly running a firearms factory in disguise of a sewing machine factory in South 24 Paraganas. During the operation, police recovered twenty-one shutters, nineteen guns and twenty-two rounds of ammunition, including five Long Range Pipe guns from the factory.

Man arrested for running firearms factory

Canning(West Bengal): Abu Siddiqui Lashkar was arrested on Friday for allegedly running a firearms factory. The accused had given the cover of a sewing machine factory in South 24 Paraganas' Canning where he made the illegal weapons.

Abu Siddique Lashkar alias Khora Siddique was presented at the Alipore court on Saturday.

Police further said that they have conducted a special operation in Siddiqui's sewing machine factory and recovered twenty-one shutters, nineteen guns and twenty-two rounds of ammunition, including five Long Range Pipe guns.

On the other hand, police revealed that earlier Siddiqui was booked for three years for smuggling firearms.

During the investigation, Siddiqui said that he was into illegal firearms trade at Canning, Kultuli, and Jaynagar areas in South 24 Paraganas.

Meanwhile, Siddiqui has been sent to police custody for seven days by the Alipore court, police added.
