Santiniketan (West Bengal): In a shocking incident, a minor tribal girl was raped in the Tansul Danga village in Santiniketan in West Bengal's Birbhum district on Monday. The police have arrested three people in connection with the case.
An FIR had been filed at Santiniketan Police Station in this regard. The victim has been shifted to Bolpur sub-division hospital by the police for medical examination. The police have started a probe in this regard.
It is alleged that the victim was forcefully taken away from her residence by the three accused persons. They took her to an abandoned house nearby and raped her. As she screamed her family members rushed to the spot, but by then the accused persons had escaped. The family members then took the victim to Santiniketan police station.

The family members named the three accused in the complaint. The police started hunting for the accused. Finally, on Monday all three of them were arrested.
Several people including the village headman assembled in front of Santiniketan on Monday demanding strict punishment for the accused.
