Migrant workers allege lack of facilities at quarantine centre in Darjeeling

Amid growing concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus, migrant workers alleged lack of adequate facilities at a quarantine centre at Phansidewa area in West Bengal's Darjeeling. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 475 in the state and the number of coronavirus cases climbed to 11,087.

Darjeeling (WB): Migrant workers alleged lack of adequate facilities at a quarantine centre at Phansidewa area in West Bengal's Darjeeling.

"The condition of the toilet is not good and the water available here is not suitable to drink and bath. We experience itching after taking a bath," a worker told media.

It is to be noted that amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown, the plight of poor migrant workers has no parallel as they seem to be worst sufferers of ongoing nationwide lockdown.
