Locals protests against mob lynching in WB's Malda

A youngster, Sanaul Sheikh has been killed by a mob on suspicion of a bike thief in West Bengal's Malda on Friday and on Sunday the local residents had staged a protest against it. Congress legislator Isha Khan Chowdhury has demanded a thorough investigation and accused that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was involved in the incident.

Malda, West Bengal: Local residents staged a protest and blocked the National Highway 34 in West Bengal's Malda on Sunday after a youngster was killed by a mob on suspicion of being a thief. Following which, Congress legislator Isha Khan Chowdhury arrived at the spot and calmed down the protestors.

Sanaul Sheikh, a resident of Ghadipara in Baishnabnagar was beaten by mob suspecting him to be a bike thief on Wednesday. Police rescued him in critical condition and admitted him in a local hospital.

Due to his critical condition, he was referred to another hospital in Kolkata. However, due to financial issues, his family members could not take him to Kolkata and he died on Friday night.

The residents staged a protest and blocked the national highway 34 in Baishnabnagar, after the video of the incident went viral on social media.

Congress legislator Isha Khan Chowdhury demanded a thorough investigation of this incident and accused Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's involvement in the incident.

Whereas, RSS denied the allegation by saying that they believe in peace and sympathy and demanded to punish the mob.
