Kolkata: Kolkata police has served a notice to BJP's national Joint General Secretary Shiv Prakash to appear for questioning in connection with an alleged rape case of a female party worker in 2018.
BJP leader Shiv Prakash has been asked to appear before the investigation officer of the case within seven days after receiving the notice.
A notice has been sent under 41(A), CrPc on behalf of the Behala police station.
Earlier, police arrested state BJP leader Amalendu Chatterjee in connection with the case.
The former female BJP worker filed a case against RSS leader Amalendu Chatterjee, BJP leader Shiv Prakash under multiple sections including rape at Behala police station on August 31, 2018.
In 2018, police arrested former BJP organising secretary Amalendu Chatterjee for allegedly having a sexual relationship on the pretext of false marriage promise. Later on, former RSS leader was granted bail and he joined Congress party in 2019.
