West Bengal: The BJP state president of West Bengal Dilip Ghosh, strongly criticised the maltreatment of the party's Muslim worker Ishrat Jahan in Howda. He has demanded an appropriate enquiry by the administration in the matter.
When Ishrat had participated in a Hindu religious program, her landlord asked her to vacate her house. Even some locals pressured her to leave the area she was living in.
Ishrat is not just a BJP worker, but also the first Muslim woman to file a petition against Triple Talaq.
Ghosh said: "When Mamata Banerjee participates in Namaz, nobody raises a question. Why do people have objection on Ishrat's participation in a program related to Lord Hanuman?"
He has demanded protection for Ishrat by the police. And has said that, "If she does not get security, and if BJP has to protest against it, the party would do it."
