Raiganj: A BJP worker was allegedly killed in police custody in West Bengal's Raiganj on Wednesday. Anup Roy, a resident of Raiganj in Uttar Dinajpur district, was allegedly detained by police and a group of TMC workers on Wednesday evening, said BJP's district president Biswajit Lahiri.

Demanding for second-time postmortem, Lahiri alleged that police took Roy's body to the hospital late night on Wednesday for secretly conducting the post-mortem.

On the other hand, Raiganj police denied all the allegations by saying that Roy was rushed to the hospital after he complained of health issue. Later he was declared dead by the doctors in the hospital, police added.

Meanwhile, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh says, "Anup Roy was beaten and shot dead in police custody. police did the postmortem overnight to hide the fact."

Seeking for a fair probe in the case, BJP has called for staging protest in Raiganj police station.
