Uttarakhand and UP CMs visit Badrinath Temple

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today visited the Badrinath Temple to take part in a puja. Adityanath will later lay the foundation of a guest house to be built by Uttar Pradesh.

Badrinath (Uttarakhand): Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh Trivendra Singh Rawat and Yogi Adityanath respectively arrived at Badrinath on Tuesday morning.

The two CMs left from the Gauchar airstrip and arrived at the Badrinath helipad at around 8.40 am today morning. The two CMs were given a grand welcome by BJP workers on their arrival to the holy town.

Rawat and Adityanath then entered the Badrinath temple, to take part in the Maha Abhishek puja.

Following the puja at Badrinath, Adityanath is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of a guest house to be built there by Uttar Pradesh government.

Earlier yesterday, the two chief ministers had arrived at Kedarnath to offer prayers at the temple and attend the ceremonial closure of its portals on Monday.

They were scheduled to leave for Badrinath after the closure of Kedarnath gates at 8.30 am on Monday. However, heavy snowfall began at Kedarnath on Sunday night and continued till Monday, delaying their departure and finally leading to the postponement of their visit to Badrinath.

But, both chief ministers appeared to be enjoying the snowfall in Kedarnath.

Adityanath said, "I have had the good fortune of visiting Kedarnath in beautiful and pleasant weather. Nature also seems to be greeting Bhagwan Bhole."

"Snow is the apparel of Baba Kedar. The snowfall is also good for the crops. It (snowfall) is a shower of divine blessings," Rawat told reporters in Kedarnath.
