Uttarakhand government against reservations and minority rights, alleges Priyanka

Priyanka Gandhi has alleged that the government in Uttarakhand is against reservations for minorities. She termed the government's stand on reservations as an attempt to take away people's right to equality.

Dehradun: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra recently targetted the Uttarakhand government over reservations in the state.

She alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party wants to take away all the rights provided by BR Ambedkar in the form of reservations.

"This is the way BJP wants to put an end to reservations. People from RSS constantly speak against reservations and then BJP government in Uttarakhand writes to the Supreme Court asking it to scrap the basic right to reservations," she wrote on her Twitter handle.

In another tweet, Gandhi wrote: "On the other side, the Uttar Pradesh government begins to play with the laws of reservation. BJP had already tried to weaken the laws against abuse of Dalits. It is now attacking their right to equality given by none other than the Constitution and Baba Saheb Ambedkar."
