Chamoli (Uttarakhand): The shrine of Badrinath was covered in a blanket of snow on Sunday as Uttarakhand witnessed heavy snowfall.
According to reports, the Badrinath Dham area was covered in snow of thickness of over 3 feet today due to three days of rain and heavy snowfall and The pilgrims were taken aback this morning when they saw thick layers of frost on roofs and bushes.
Apart from Badrinath, the hills of Tungnath, Madmaheshwar, and Kalishila also received moderate snowfall. Reportedly, snowfall intensified in the higher Himalayan regions of Munsiyari, including Panchachuli, and Nanda Devi.
Thick layers of snow on the roofs of houses could be seen, as water in taps and sewers also froze due to heavy snowfall.
