Third child should be devoid of all rights: Baba Ramdev

Baba Ramdev has claimed that in order to reduce population growth in the country, all privileges and rights should be denied to the third child born child in every family, regardless of the religion. He further said that India was not prepared to handle the rising population growth in the country.

Haridwar: In yet another controversial statement, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Sunday asserted that in order to contain population growth, the government should bring a law which prevents the third-borns to have any rights provided by the government.

Addressing the media in Haridwar, Ramdev claimed that India is not prepared to handle the rising population growth in the country.

"The government should bring a law following which the third child will not be able to enjoy any type of privileges and facilities provided by the government," Ramdev said.

"Then people will not give birth to more children, no matter which religion they belong to," he added.

Further, he also appealed for the complete ban on cow slaughtering and liquor sale in the country.

"There should be a blanket ban on cow slaughter and it is the only way to end the conflict between 'cow smugglers' and gau rakshaks," he said.

Baba Ramdev, known for his affiliation towards the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), often invites scrutiny for his controversial remarks.
